There is $1 review fee? How is it free?

It was completely free when i wrote this thread on May 2010. But i received many submissions and most of them where spam submissions. I couldn't handle the review process of thousands of spam submissions each day and changed it to a $1 review fee to block these spam submissions. Do you think that it is expensive? :)

You can submit links as much as you wish. Each link review fee is only $1.

Do you approve non-spam links for free then? I just submitted and hope so....otherwise it's true that it's not a free directory. Your website calls it a "free, human edited general web directory". Thanks.

I am sorry, i can not make any privilages to someone because of two reasons :
    1. Then, many people seeing this thread will request the same and i will have the same headache again.
    2. This will be unfair for the people who payed $1 for review.

I don't understand why you are asking this kind of questions. Is $1 too much? I receive only $0.66 from it after paypal commission has been taken. I don't need this money but this is required for the quality of the directory and this is a block of spam submissions.

That's fine if you don't want to approve my link. However, I believe it is inaccurate to label yourself a "free" directory when you require a fee (regardless of how much it is). Right?

Right. But i wrote the explanation in my previous posts, if you read. It was completely free when i wrote this thread on May 2010. It is now October.

*** Can moderators close this thread please as its content is not valid anymore ?? And maybe send it to archives or somewhere that people will never see again. Thanks. ***

I understand that you can change your directory from free to paid over time. However, you still advertise on your website homepage as "a free, human edited general web directory." It would be appropriate to update that. Anyway, I'm done.

Yeah, it is $1 to prevent spam submissions as we discussed in this thread.
