If anyone would like some ideas on linkbaiting, I may be able to help. I've learned a lot about linkbait in the last few months and have gotten very good at it. I've hit the digg front page twice in the last week alone resulting in a lot of backlinks and a rediculous amount of traffic. If you'd like any ideas I'll be happy to help fellow DP members. You can contact me via msn messenger if you'd like. Gatorade

Yes, that is the whole point with a linkbait campaign, to get links... I'm not offering to give tips, I'm offering ideas. For example, you have a site about hand lotion, I can give you some ideas on what type of link bait to create that will catch attention. If you want tips, that's easy. Here are some tips: Use a Short Catching Title <--- This is also considered the hook. Use Pictures <---People love pictures. Having Plenty of Great and Original Content <---You need something that people will actually say wow and link to. Submitt Your Linkbait to Social Bookmarking Sites like Digg <---Duh
I feel dumb on this subject because I don't get the basic idea. I read on previous post about ebooks, posting tips on something and so on. When someone downloads an ebook how does that create link bate. As far as tips are concerned how is that better than articles? I thought link bating was more like when the weather channel site offers code to put on other sites that provides the latest forecast and that is a link people can click on to go to the weather channels site.
The best type of link bait in my oppinion is to host a contest and give away big prizes (LCD TVs, Laptops, iPods, Gadgets and other expensive tech stuff) or cash (more than $50 should do good work).
