What is the best company offering free hosting? FreeHosting Dot com seems to offer a good package which seems too good to be true. Has anyone used it before?

Certainly a very highly ranked site and offers 100GB/month data transfer which is great. Thanks for posting it.

I suppose that it will be much better to pay some dollars for reliability and speed than to see your web sites always down.

Free hosting can be good for testing your web sites.

Free hostings are good for testing only. Make sure you dont get carried away.
They are a bit on the easy side with the ban hammer though

I agree with Yenny and SiberForum. Free hosting is great for a personal site or something experimental, where you don't need reliability, support, speed, ensured backups, etc. But with how cheap hosting is these days, you have no excuse not to go with a budget provider that offers all those basic necessities if you want to give making a website a real crack.

As a matter of fact I have a very good excuse and that is payment. I am currently in an unforunate part of the world that I cannot make payments to any where in the world and it has had a big effect in the way that I can do any sort of business. ALL OPTIONS OF PAYING ARE CLOSED TO ME BECAUSE OF WHERE I LIVE CURRENTLY. No I can't move somewhere else, no I can't have paypal or any other paying service like that and no to everything else!

Would free hosting make a domain worth more than just a basic undeveloped page?

Recently I was testing quite a few free hosting services and here's a funny experience with x10hosting.com: when trying to update a fresh new wordpress installation, it was halted half way and account was suspended. reason given: too much CPU usage detected. when i asked in their forum, if a basic package is not allowed to be done, how can we host a blog then? their honest & frank answer: upgrade to premium.

some of you talking about 000webhost.com, but it is not available to users of all countries but there's no allow/disallow country list on website. i personally tried 3 times, from 3 different states/regions, account is stuck at "verification" level. but when I used a US proxy, my account was instantly setup, I tried twice, succeeded both the times.

freehostia.com or atspace.com but just for hosting simple html sites. I don't recommend free hosting - it is unreliable and unstable. Rather pay a few dollars per month for decent hosting.
