Free hosted blog or Host Blog in domain?

Hi,

Which of the two blog options is better for SEO?

1) Use the free hosted blog like wordpress, blogger, geocities?

2) or, host the blog in my website/domain?

My website is divided into four main areas, what I am planning to do is to have four different blogs (free hosted) focusing each areas? so as have four different backlink sources.

Do you think is a good idea to do so?

 

Having own domain is always good, esp for SEO purposes.

 

Having your own domain will give you better control over the kind of plug-ins you can install and will also allow you to use robots.txt to avoid duplicate content.

If you use free wordpress hosted blog, you can't install analytics, adsense or put any javascript code. It's better to install wordpress or other blog software for your own domain.

 

I will go for my own domain. I can control everything. Besides , the domain name is better for SEO.

Blog on the same domain is much better than a free hosting blog platform...
But, you can make a blog from free hosting blog platform to blog a specific topic in your website. =)

 

Sounds like a neat idea to me and of course it would be better to have your own domain, something like an address which belongs to you.
