They already do that... letting people out on probation because the jail systems cant house everyone.
Really? Don't you pay for it with taxes or something? That's what I meant about "free" as opposed to "socialised". Though I think I'm just splitting hairs. Here in the Netherlands, you are required by law to have health insurance. You pay for it. If you can't afford it, you get money back from the government (which means those of us who can pay end up basically paying for those who can't-- one of the basic tenants of socialism). We're doing something wrong if we need to lock away large numbers of our populations. Though I notice in the US it's full of guys who had a bag of weed in their pockets, sheesh. Make room for the guys who rape kids instead.
well there are many free insulin testing centres also...testing is done for many diseases/addictions. some insulin injection testing centres are also run by govt./medical institutes... i'm sure you'll find some in ur country.
Ok the money is paid for via taxes, but we do not pay a specific 'healthcare tax' It is taken out of the pot. There is no way you would get an entirely free healthcare system, or for that any other system, quite simply because everything has a cost involved.
Yeah but if you don't pay taxes, you still get it for free. Anyway, I don't think you can disagree with this handing out needles thing if it actually works. If it's saving lives and cost hardly anything, it means it's working, and it's a good thing, surely?
Like England there I think there is a justice problem. If they are addicted and and get to prison but will go mad if they don't get any then that's just tough.
Thank you and no I dont go to AA meetings. They have developed a pill called Ant Abuse that I take daily. Having taken this pill if I chose to consume any alcohol I would become very ill and sick. Basically it gives you the worst hangover possible if mixed with alcohol. I have not tested this as im choosing to be sober but thats what they say it will do.
