Free Geoip Scripts For Php Proxy! Dont Pay $60/domain! Free!

Catchy title.. I know


My friends and I have seen many different people selling GEOIP targetting scripts for proxies on this forum, on the upwards of $60-100/domain, or $400/server. We figure, why not offer an open source one...

We all hate low paying high bandwidth using countries doodling on our proxies, so we are making an open source script to weed out only the high paying countries to be allowed to the use the proxies.

We want your feedback.

-What would you like added to it
-What kind of customization
-What else can we bundle with it (Thats going to be free as well)

Not sure how it'd work, but a proxy with the ability to watch Youtube videos would be one of the few.

Wow awesome. Will there be an admin panel to choose which countries are blocked ?

 

A back end would be nice.
for allowing or denying ips or sites
For letting them sign up for more bandwidth so a free and (paid)member
Adding ads to say a tpl_footer via the admin
Ability to enable or disable options
(cookies, scripts, hotlinking etc.....)
monitor ips and bandwidth used by each w/ability to ban them with a click

All this via a admin panel so would not need to go into the coding..

draw back is if it uses a database would hurt the processors even more.
Might be able to store in files instead of database.

Yeah you would be able to choose which countries. Same with IP banlist could be implemented. I don't know about cookies/scripts/hotlinking, because that is all variables in phpproxy, so why couldn't you just edit them there?

Monitoring each user would be very bad on the server. Proxies get on upwards of a million page views each per day... you don't want to log that

 

Well you can edit it all in the files.... The thought was to make it simpler. Logging users will guess would just rely on awstats. To configure and edit via an admin panel would make it user friendly. No searching for code via the admin would be a simple click and apply. Even blocking ips and countries.

anyways just pipe dreams would make the scripts too heavy.

I've had great experience with it, maybe its something that you may want to use as a base. Had a programmer configure it to CGI proxy so that it outputs a 1 or a 0. If the ip is valid, thus showing all of those low paying people just ads and disabling the ability to use the proxy.

You can configure it to anything you want. Just need to have some basic knowledge of the code you are trying to integrate it into.

 

Is this dead? Just want to know.
