    Hi,

I am going to be launching a new website in a few months and have received a lot of interest on the topic both from contributors and readers. I want to plan for 1 million subscribers with in the next year. I plan to focus on building a following with helpful content 70-75% and selling 25-30%. Therefore, I'm not planning to make much money directly at first. I want engagement over money because I have plans to use the site's following as a bargaining chip for other things. Once I feel I have a large and tight following then I'd start moving it to 50% sales 50% content, but by that time I'd have a better presence, more trust, and more knowledge about the subscribers.

With that said, I would like to learn:
*what are the best free tools out there to manage that HIGH AMOUNT of a volume of subscribers.

*Or what is the best old school way to manage a list without someone else's software. I think most software now a days is overpriced at what I call "the make it or break it points". Selling is a numbers game and you need to reach a lot of people to make a sell, but stay in touch between sales. How can you break past the break even point if every service wants hundreds of dollars a month. I could see maybe $500 a year for a email management system, but for $500 a month, the software better be finding me new followers/subscribers by itself. The tech industry has learned how to game people by making everyone buy a license or monthly fee instead of just selling the product. It's the equivalent of a doctor treating a disease when they can cure it. If I can be above this game, I'd rather be.

*So, Is there a moderate or low priced software that I can buy to avoid paying 200-400 a month for this amount of subscribers.

    * Is there a tip or trick to getting around the charges by splitting lists or uploading and sending with multiple software or plugins on wordpress? Or is there a way to segment subscribers into smaller amounts like 10 or more lists of 100,000 and stay free or do sites like mailchimp, listwire, etc all charge you based off of TOTAL subscribers? I looked at listwire but it doesn't say if there is a cap to how many subscribers you can use there.

I don't want to have to RELY on a service. I want it to always be a choice.

    My recommendation: getresponse
Aweber: too expensive (though I prefer their preference & appearance)
Mailchimp: suck, some of their ips are even blacklisted
***Final point: actually I don't figure out your point here, why you can't afford $500/month if these softwares can earn you 10x?
And I doubt you can earn 1 mil email/ year (your phylosophy is like a "penny guy", think bigger, friends)
    Regards,
