Hi I am looking for alternatives to Dreamweaver in web design. I would basically want to convert my PSD into HTML with good CSS support (since I do not know it well enough and so will need the software to provide me with the prompts). Can DPers suggest me a good software? I've heard about KompoZer and Amaya. Are they good enough for this?
There's no alternative on making a site from scratch, you could either get a template and edit it yourself or create a page from ground up. Dreamweaver is definitely one of the best too for html / css. Learning it though is not that difficult, you just need to understand how tags are used. I suggest learning at w3schools.com. Goodluck!
A PSD may as well be a drawing on a napkin. You can't convert a napkin into code... at least not very well. Learning to code by hand is free. It's the best thing you can do. Do it. If you want a good FREE code editor, then look at: http://notepad-plus-plus.org/ http://www.pspad.com/
