Please note that .co.cc is not offering free domain to all domain name. For good meaning keyword domain nae, they will charge you some registration fee.
Indeed people do use free domains, but it's the niche that does focus. If a free domain is designed for commercial use, it's no point - people will imagine you as "priceless" and can't afford a domain name. Whereas ME.PN, designed for individuals wouldn't make an impact as they're just making some space for their profile - Not their buisness.
