Free Domain Name with hosting?

Hi, I am a new webmaster and this is my first time getting a domain name/hosting service. My question is: Since I'm getting hosting (bluehost.com is what I decided on), and they offer 'free domain names' for new users, should I just do that instead of buying hosting and then buying a seperate domain name from godaddy or namecheap? Are there any pitfalls or weaknesses I should be aware of that these 'free domain names' with hosting have? Or am I just being paranoid? Would buying a domain name from GoDaddy be a safer bet, or help in any way? I do have somewhat of a tight budget, and the free domain name would be really nice if it was all legit.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Godaddy-buy-domain-get-hosting-free is a crap..they put some ads on your site.
Better you buy a good domain and different server. Nowadays, its easy to find $5 server.
Bluehost vs Dreamhost, I go with dreamhost..

It's ok, there's no problem. And I recommend Bluehost. They don't allow adult content in case you didn't knew that. The domain will be in your name and free as long as you keep your hosting account with them. My suggestion is get it like this, build your site, make some money and after 60 days or when you'll find the right time transfer the domain to a registrar like Dynadot or Namecheap to keep it safe. Also kep in mind that you'll need to go for the yearly plan in order to get the name free.

GoAhead, stop worring and just get on with building your website, I'm sure you will be fine and as mentioned you can transfer the domain later. Just make sure not to order more than 1 or 2 months hosting at once so you can always move later if it's not that great.
