their are 100's if not 1000's of free domain name providers but in fact they are not TLD's and most of the time you will get a sub domain. increase your budget by $2 and buy a .info TLD from godaddy
if you already have an established blog then you may try for free domain and hosting from hyperwebenable.com
I would suggest Namecheap.com cos they provide free WHOIS privacy which is costly if you buy from Godaddy. .info domains only cost $2.99. .com cost $9.99. Although .com a bit expensive the free WHOIS privacy would already make up for the price.
You beat me to it. I was going to say ".tk". It is a free top level domain. Which I think is what you are looking for. Blogger.com is not a domain provider. They are a blog hosting company. You must use their services alone. Cant fully customize the site as well. You will only get a "yourname.blogspot.com" domain.
Well, I can say that there are some web hosts offering free domain within hosting packages.. You need to pay for the whole year for hosting account in order to get free domain.
Almost all the suggested FREE domain providers reviewed, is only .tk, but i just hope the service last. The rest are mere sub-domains.
It hard to find free domains these days. Other site offer cheap on your first registration but when you renew it next year, it becomes expensive.
choose the public domain, so you could easily use the subdomain without owner's approval if some domain you've interested are the private domain, you should wait for owner's approval but remember, this is free subdomain but eventhat, it's free tho...
If you are looking for a .COM domain name, there is no such thing as free but I suggest you pick up the best and that is either .COM, .NET or .ORG.
I am answering assuming you mean free domain which you get with hosting. You can get .com, .net or .org free with hosting but .co.cc can not be available in such service.
you should be aware, sometimes the freestuff is never really free... learn carefully the TOS, free domain or subdomain sometimes put ads in our website (that is the cost of your "freestuff") sometime (i read this in some blog, but actually never happen to me), provider give us the "freestuff" like free domain or subdomain, and then, when our website actually got bigger and bigger, good traffic, lot unique visitors, suddenly woop... the "free thing" is gone you should pay this or that, or worst... without prior notice, your domain got banned for some reason we couldnt really understand the point is, when you really want build an establish and long term website, dont use the free domain for it try to find the cheap domain, coupon, etc ... actually, with $2.00 you could get a TLD, make a search...
Of course the pilot out to have a domain name. com or. net ... competition will be better. We are therefore Committee on Free Domain co.cc is a good way, Hosting, too, can be used free hosting such as byethost, ...
