    Hi
I have a website in local University storage and wants to put my site in .co.nr free domain? Is it ok to use .co.nr for commercial sites and is it safe?

As far as I'm aware there is no restriction against commercial sites, check the terms at http://www.freedomain.co.nr/

You should be aware that .co.nr is not a real TLD and the 'domains' they offer are actually just subdomains of their .co.nr domain. As for safety, the Russian company that operates freedomain.co.nr technically owns all the domains and could pull service to them any time they wanted. If you're just using them to redirect to your own server or whatever, and they are not hosting your data, this isn't really a security risk, but it could result in you losing custom. If you plan on doing a significant amount of business through it I would register your own domain instead so you can be assured full control over it, since they are very cheap these days.

When using a .co.nr domain, you have to place their banner on your index page (88x31 px). However, I'm not sure about the commercial use. Read their TOS.

You could also try e.g. uni.cc or co.cc but again, I'm not sure as of the commercial use.

Another option is to get a .info for $2.99 with Godaddy, but you know how important the domain is for you.

I would say GoDaddy and NameCheap are the best registrars (and most popular). I also like Dynadot.

Why not get a .INFO from GoDaddy at just $0.99 + $0.25 (ICANN). PM me for the coupon. :)
