    That's not how it works.

If you want a free domain be ready to have a business plan ready and accept putting ads all over your domain name from someone else.

If you want free hosting, try host gator, there are lots of free hosts but you get what you pay for.

Do NOT go for a free domain with hosting deal or anything else that means you do not own the domain name - it will come back to bite you in the butt. Also, do NOT tie your domain to your hosting - keep them apart in case anything goes wrong.

Buy a domain from Godaddy and get cheap hosting from Hostgator.

You can get cheaper domains. Remember it takes money to make money.

I don't recommend using free web hosting. Maybe just to do some testing but once you have your site ready find a low priced hosting option

Who said Hostgator is a free hosting service? It is a paid hosting service and very good as Godaddy.

Co.cc domains aren't free at all either, and not even fully qualified domain names, but similar to Uni.cc domains, difference is that co.cc are free for the first year and if you land a good name now, it cost you $3 or more depending on the name, while uni.cc are free, but once again, not fully qualified domain names... TK is a tricky free domain service that may rank your site only to get them suspending the service for their own benefit on such name.

There are dozens of free hosting providers but none of them offer free domain names.

There are dozens of paid hosting services offering free domain names, but those aren't free at all, so you have to pay for one year hosting in full to get such domain and usually pay to renew it after the first year has gone.

You can at least register an INFO domain, which is only $1.99 at GoDaddy, or save money to get a dot.com, the best choice.

I found FreeHostia to be quite good. You can register a top level domain with them for $19.95 and they give you free domain hosting with 250 MB space and 5 GB monthly bandwidth. A few bonus features are 5 subdomains are available, Perl and PHP with 1 MySQL database and PHPMyAdmin, FrontPage extensions, SSI and many others. Again, I haven't had a chance to test this host (I can only run so many domains at a time ;-) ), but it does look like a good one.

I don't recommend "byethost.com" this hosting company uses a Vista panel not a Cpanel, with ads. Also your username and password is the same for your databases not good for security purposes.

I have five personal domains hosted there, since those are family pages I don't need more than what Freehostia offers and I need them hosted on a site for an undefined period of time (years to come) without worries to switch hostings and things like that.

I can say they are really good and there are no banners nor downtime, besides you can always upgrade to a paid hosting package to get more features, bandwidth, disk space.
