Free directories come and go paid very quickly. Find a community like Info Vilesilencer, take root and get involved. The trick is to catch them as they are launched and to then keep adding month by month. Works a treat.

I would also go with addurl.nu - I think it has one of the best layouts with PR, direct submit links, and comments.
