I plan to make regular updates, but there is something you should have in mind: it is free. Read: I can give this only my free time. And I don't expect to spend hours and hours to test directories and support the database. I think this is fair deal -- it will be a free tool but I will not make any promises about the updates. Otherwise... well, there are many proffessional (read: commercial) tools that will offer regular, fast and reliable updates... In general -- right after I have an updated version for me I will post it online, and yes -- I will add "check for updates" function inside the tool. Not yet, but several people requested such function, so I suppose I'll add it in the coming release.
Strange... Sounds like something went wrong while you extracted the files. Do you unzip all files in the same disk folder? Anyway, later today or tomorrow morning I'll publish the new revision and it will be packed in standard setup file. Hope this will fix your trouble.
The new version of the tool has been published. Now I packed all the directories I collected (over 5000), import function and check for updates button in the main menu. This way you'll be able to check for new versions within the application itself. Windows Installer (direct download link): http://wonderwebware.com/site-submit/SiteSubmit.exe and the zip only (if you hate installers): http://wonderwebware.com/site-submit/SiteSubmit.zip Notes: (1) to import your current projects you already have, just copy the "Projects" folder to the new program folder (2) I still didn't get the time to test the directories, so please keep your antivirus scanner turned on
This is just sick... this software is way over the top! The update is working like a charm... lots of neat little things you can do with this... Can't believe anyone would complain about being handed this... it's a little beauty..
I warned about this several times before, and will say it again: keep your anti-virus program on while submitting. The list of directories is collected from different sites and forums and I cannot warrant about these directories. While I went trough (most of) the directories my AV scanner warned me about malicious sites 2 times and I removed these two directories, but be aware that I didn't test all of these yet, and I don't know who is the owner of any directory. I use 2 AV programs turned on while submitting. BTW -- I will release the next beta soon, with more directories tested by me, so -- you may want to wait until this next revision becomes available.
