    Hi.

I’m looking for a free directory script that generates static html files, or any script that the directories structure will look like http://www.mydomain.com/xxx.htm

When using the site-sift script or the phplinkdirectory script those functions are build in the script, but your isp must be able to handle a mod-rewrite to use the rewrite engine of the apache server.

Anyway , You can use mod_rewrite, its a simple mod for apache server, that makes urls on the fly, you can choose urls as you want. Wordpress and Joomla have this function, So you can install Joomla for your site and you'd get a http://www.yoursite.com/directory/ or directory.html anyway you want with the help of using Open Sef and Mos Directory Plugins :)

I think this is what you try to do. Either go crazy, out of the point, and when you do not have an answer, call it a joke. Go to the General Chat and enjoy your PJ's.

Well, it was a good example of what Trueman is looking for and I don't really think it's funny to imply that there would be a reason not to click a link to one of my sites. Call me sensitive ;)...

It wasn't me, although I did think about it :).

Thanks VS. I am glad you like CPLinks.

Sam, let me know if you need any help with CPLinks or CPDynalinks, the script that uses mod_rewrite. CPLinks on the other hand created static html files. Other then this, they both work the same.

You don't have to, php link directory allows you to enable mod rewrite.

www.wsnlinks.com has an option to create static pages.

But as the others have pointed out you don't need them if you use .htaccess properly.

    Static pages = more work
