Hi all, let's make a system, everyone with a free directory may join. what would you say if you would win, let's say, $0.05 or $0.10/submission? considering it is a free directory I'd say this is pretty good. here is how I see this working: for example me, is making a directory submission service available. I would charge $15 to guarantee approval in 100 directories. out of the $15, $10 will be given to the directory owners to imediatelly approve the sites I submit. I said this on a small scale, but consider 1000 directories and fast approval in all of them, anyone would buy the service and the directories owners would get $10 for every 100 sites they approve (better than nothing). take a look how many submission services are available in the Services section of the forum, your directory might be on their lists but you don't get a penny from accepting their sites. besides, this way, any of the joiners may make his own submission service. I don't know if I made myself understood, but I will be happy to answer to your questions and maybe we can put together a good list of directories with fast approval.
well, I for example, would take for submission only acceptable sites. though, you can't say a site is MFA if it has some adsense on it. if you can see it in the ads on other pages, then yes, it is a MFA.
May need to write very detailed guide lines in order to avoid this. But I like the idea as well. I always say that there is more than enough money for everyone in the directory market if people would just open the door a little.
The MFA was just to make the point; the problem is different acceptance policies from different directories, to offer a guaranteed listing involves some risk. IMHO you should offer a refund for the no-listed directories. But looks like a good idea.
or another option would be to have the list of all the joiners in the program, send them the link that is going to be submitted and out of 1000, if it is a family friendly site i guess 500 would accept it. but this would be just to much work for webmasters which doesn't really worth $0.10. the refunding idea seems to be the best after all. so, should I make a add page and who wants to join will just subscribe there?
I was thinking something like this the other day. My point was to limit spam. I would work with selective "submission service providers". If someone want to submit a listing directly with me (eg. $25, but if they come from a "submission service" it will be eg. $5). It will provide them with the options before submitting. So, website owners will work with their favorite submission service and not with the directory owner. I don't know any directory that is accepting submission this way. But your idea is good one too, so count me in!
well.. there are only about 5 people interested so far. I'll make a submit form.. and will place a list of those who wish to join on my directories, links-collector.com (PR4 - expected 5-6) and all-linkdirectory.com (PR2 - expected PR 5-6). talk back in few hours when the form will be ready.
That is exactly what I think too. At present --the directory industry--either-paid or free is too disorganized --it is like Wild Wild West! So if the industry can get organized things could be much easier and reawarding according to the labour one will put in.
I am interested but we need to have some detailed guidelines like in how many days link will be approved(min 1 day) and revenue sharing And also I have some free directories where I can earn through only google adsense!
The only other problem we would have is the price for the featured links as it differs from directory to directory we have to decide on it! And also you should have a script for this to calculate total no of links submitted to our directory group and the amount each one should be paid for each directory!
Nice idea... why not have a voting system in place. Then if say... 20% of the directories in the list vote, and over 85% of them vote yes to accept, then the dir can be submitted. (just my thought)
Would this be just for general directories or do you see there being categories for regional and niche directories? If regional is allowed, I'd like to participate
well... whoever buys a submission service pays for regular free links in directories. We are not talking here about featured links. about the script, I'm doing the submissions using my name and my e-mail. I will keep all the acceptance emails and in the end send them to the buyer and send the money to each directory owner ($0.05 or $0.10). offcourse, can't send you so little by paypal but I'll keep records and you can ask for your money at any time. well, I don't think we could gather here 100 directory owners in the same niche. I'm starting to build a system where every dir owners submits his directories and when we have enough directories in the DB we'll start making serious money. If this really works I think I'll hire a man to deal only with you, send you the money, add directories to the list, remove directories from the list. but this is for later.
