paid directories don't accept payments for backlinks. Paid directories, with editorial standards, accept payments to cover the labor involved with editing the submission and for the ongoing maintenance of their directories.
Free directories would be a good start but later on paid directories can also be a good asset..........But make sure only High PR directory submission which also allow dofollow links..............
i cant spend money on things like these, so i prefer free links, in my 13 yrs internet life i never visit any link directory website, never know wats the use of that
We provide you one of the best maintained web directory. great directory offers great discounts for their listing services
not all paid directory good. you need to check if they directory already free from bad links? (adult, casino?)
use paid directory to save time. i also use free directory to get approved backlinks later. Both are good for SEO
Free directories can be fine but you can't just pick them a random. Some do a terrible job of editing and others never approve submissions. If you don't have the time to do some research then paid directories would be best.
Not always the paid ones are better and yes we all do need backlinks to improve on rankings for our website but some of the free directories like mine http://www.lincsdirectory.com will place you high in the rankings by keywords. For example mkm builders merchants in skegness are advertised with us and if you type in to google mkm skegness they are placed on average 7th and with this people looking for that company will then see there details on my site and point them to there site. What i am getting at is that even do the free website do not always get you backlinks but they do bring in customers for you. so get all the free listings possible
I would vote for paid directories as they are do follow, have high pr and take very little time in approval.
Here is a rule of thumb. If a directory owner is not making money from the directory, he/she will not invest money into the directory. Would you want to be listed in a directory that just sits there for no reason?
Some people like their blogs or websites and update it regularly just because they want to not for any financial benefit. I just can't think of a good reason why anyone would feel passionate about having a free general directory and want to keep a good directory for no financial benfit
So what you are saying is a blog owner or website owner who earns $0 will still put hours of work in, for the love of there site ?? Disagree...
If they are making $0 or not looking forward to make money from it in future, yes they are. A free general directory (most likely built on a free script) has no future in making any money.
