I was wondering if you guys see results after you submit your site to all those free directories? I'm thinking of spending like 5 hours one day doing that but I don't wanna waste my time. Can someone also link me to that big directory list? Thanks!
Lots of lists out there mine is at http://www.topwebsitetips.com/FreeLinks-Directories.aspx. I have over 550 directories listed. Even the PR0 directories help you with MSN. You can see results with as little as 10-20 directories if you are not in a heavily competive field. If you can use you keywords as your title they can help you in the serps for particular kaywords. In time the links age and the directory gains PR, then it becomes helpfull with Google.
Here is another one http://www.submithelper.com/User/User_Directory.aspx You can find 363 free, non-reciprocal directories listed at present. It is updated daily.
This address is what I need to. Thank you im my name. Try also this: http :// www. web10.us /dir/5/1.php
hi even if they do not get you any traffic, but they still are a free one-way link and that always helps.
To answer your question, I dont really have a clear cut answer. In a way I would say it is a waste of time. Most free directories don't have very good linkage to them, and thus never get indexed too deeply. So if your link ends up a few categories deep, your link will most likely never get crawled anyway. I would suggest using your own judgement making sure the directory has potential and will continue to be active 12 months down the track. The best free directories are the one's which will eventually go paid, as they will be more aggresively marketed offering more value to the submitters.
I agree directories don't give much for a traffic or even none but a good source for one way link. Try info.vilesilencer.com
Wouldn't let me submit. I'd selected humor & jokes as a subsection of Entertainment and used a .co.uk email address and got a message saying all fields must be filled in with the sub-section blanked out and the e-mail address marked as invalid.
I agree sufyaaan, and very quick submission with less clicks too. Searching for my newly submitted page displays it. I hope they approve my submission soon.
It's definitely a good source for PR improvement and good for a NEW site to get indexed through google and MSN. >>I got new site and submitted to around 50 free directory (mostly those free that lists it here) and now my site has good PR ranking.
If your site is new and doesn't have any pr then directory submission is ideal way to get fast and many link backs.
I got my main site to a PR4 using just free directories and copious time! - having said that - I think its a bit of a fluke!
Ah man i found one pr 6 free directory but when i submitted it said : It will take from 3 - 6 months before your site will be reviewed. Darn it
You can place link back on your site and send e-mail about that. I hope what your site will be reviewed without delay.
