I want to create a free e-book download for my blog. I want it to be like the ones you see on so many blogs where users enter their first name and e-mail to receive the free download. How is the best way to do this?

I use Blogger...please don't tell me to switch to WordPress. This is not an option right now. I have managed to add in pretty much anything I want to my Blogger template.

I know how to create the PDF...I just don't know how to get the other stuff to work. I would prefer a PDF that opens right in the browser. Any suggestions. Thanks in advance.:D

You will need to use an autoresponder like Aweber (f expensive ) or GetResponse. Email Aces has them too at $8 a month I think :)

So...I have my download all ready to go, and have yet to find a service that does what I need it to. I signed up for some shite and it didn't allow attachments...well, great. hehe

I need a simple form that I can put on my blogspot with the following fields:

    First Name:
    Email:

Then I need a Submit button under that that sends an email somewhere that I can set up an autoresponse with the attached file. Does anyone know how to finagle this?

If you don't like spending money on a auto responder you could also keep it simple and use MS outlook for it. Set up a specific e-mail address once they fill in their name and e-mail on your site and let outlook send a reply to them with the download link.
If you want to have it opened in the browser you need to make a direct download instead of zipped or via rapidshare or something like that.
