Hey, I am interested in creating a site that needs a search bar that can search a database hosted on my site that can look up products that I add to the database. Is there any free software that can get this done easily and effectively? Thanks!
If your hosting support remote database management, you'd have no problem given that you have experience in managing and connecting to databases. AFAIK there's no software to help you achieve what you want, but there are softwares that can manage databases such as Navicat, dbForge, mySQL Workbench, etc, most of them are free. But reading your question asking for free softwares to connect to a remote database, I have the feeling that you lack experience in doing so. I advice you seek the experts to do it, or if you have time, try something easy first.
