Hi All, On the 1st June we're releasing a Free Contextual Link Exchange plugin for WordPress and are looking for initial BETA testers to help "stress test" the network. We're in the process of testing the plugin on our own in-house blogs (and several third party networks) at the moment, but our public BETA testing stage is to ensure we have all server loads setup correctly to manage our target goal of 10,000 blogs within the next 3 months. As a really brief summary the plugin will allow you to place your text links (contextually) on hundreds of other members blogs within the network, based on the keyword terms (and links) you define. It gives you the ability to have up to 6 other unique blogs linking back to yours for EVERY NEW POST you add to your blog. If you already have posts in your blog at the moment, then the plugin can come back and retrospectively include those in the network. As such you might already have the ability to gain several hundred immediate (keyword targeted) incoming links to your blog at no cost. Participation is really easy. You simply need to download the plugin, install and activate it on your WordPress blog, and define a brief group of settings (your keyword terms, links, etc). Everything from the point forward is automated. All up it will take about 5 minutes per blog to get started. For complete details about the plugin and network (it's free to participate) please check out... http://www.ContextualPartnership.com ...and if you would like to be one of our BETA testers, enter your details on the download page so we can notify you when it's available. We are only looking for around 500 blogs at the moment to test server loads before we begin our primary launch, so please feel free to register above now (if the registration form is missing then we've already reached our quota of BETA testers). I would also like feedback on the explanation of the network / plugin in general. Does it makes sense to you? There is going to be a video demonstration when we officially go live, but does the copy reflect the concept in an easy to understand way? Thanks in advance, Duncan PS: If you have more than 50 individual blogs you would like to test in the network then drop me a PM and I can get you setup quickly (note: you will still be required to install and activate the plugin on each blog).
Duncan this is really a great wordpress plugin. This is another cool arsenal to a wordpress blog backlinks acquisition. I've already signed in for the beta test. salihu
Hi Salihu, Thanks for your feedback. There didn't seem to be much interest here (although we already have several thousand people waiting to download the plugin so it doesn't matter if no one here is interested). There is a slight delay that's cropped up also, but it shouldn't be too much further away as it was nothing major. Look forward to being able to bring it to you Salihu. Best... Duncan
Absolutely amazing idea, I've signed up for the BETA, I think this would suit my blog nicely. Thanks for your work and information about the plugin.
I'm putting myself in google's shoes. I'm trying to see how I would 'catch' the sites partaking of this (admittedly sophisticated) link exchange. As the apparent purpose is to 'swap' backlinks, Google will probably assume it's a PR manipulation system. And if there's one thing Google hates, it's attempts to manipulate PR.
Hi ContentBoss, Obviously I can talk about how we're protecting things here in relation to that matter in a public forum (although nothing is 100% full proof - such an outcome is very unlikely) however the network is not a back link exchange. It is an advertising / traffic exchange using contextual links. If there is an indirect benefit to one's SEO, then that's fine, we can't help that.
I tried to subscribe, but McAfee advisor has warned me that your website is attempting security breach. Did anyone on DP used that plugin? How is the experience?
Hi SEOLight, Specifcally what warning is it giving? As far as we're aware there's nothing wrong with the website.
Ok Thanks. That's obviously an issue with McAfee. That redirect simply connects to our mailing list management system to be able to email download information for the plugin. It's on a separate domain which is probably the issue but have not had this being reported as an issue with any other security software.
I see. And can I ask - why do you require registration to download the plugin? If it's free, why not provide just a download link, as it's done with most free WP plugins?
Whilst fully functional the plugin is still in beta stage (we have a serious of additional features to add very soon and there are also some minor issues with a very small proportion of users based on their specific server settings). As such, we wanted to be able to keep everyone up to date with what's going on. Otherwise when we make these updates (and so forth) without notifying members, we would be inundated with support requests from users trying to figure out what's going on - which is basically just be a big time waster and resource sink that could be better spent on further developing the network. Shortly no registration will be required to download the plugin directly from the website, but to activate the plugin and become a member of the network itself - contact details are required for the same reason from within the plugin itself. Nothing too unsual about that. Just common business sense.
I see. Can you tell how many people roughly (several, 10's, 100's..) are using/downloaded the plugin? I just want to estimate whether it's worth joining now or perhaps wait till the network is of reasonably large size.
Hi SeoLight, You'll find recent stats we've posted here... http://www.contextualpartnership.com/news/over-54000-places-for-your-links/ Although we're going at such a rate that those stats will largely be irrelevant by the weekend. Thanks.
I tried to subscribe and after I ignored the McAfee warning (pressed the button "override the warning"), the next page I ended up on was: I didn't get to download the plugin. (( Please explain how to fix that.
Wow good luck with this, just like other automated link exchanges, the penalties will fly once Google discovers the networks footprint....
SEO light if you want to use the contact form on the support page and include your name and email address we can add you manually.
