Free classified ad directories - Are they worth it?

I recently signed up as a clickbank affiliate and I am yet to make my first sale. I had the idea that I could submit ads to tons of free classified ad directories, with my affiliate link in them of course. My goal is $200 and I dont care how long it takes or how hard I have to work. Do you think submitting 100 ads to 20+ classified ad directories is worth the time? That would be 2000 ads total. Does anyone think that could get me atleast SOME conversions?

I think, it's better if you using the anothers methods like PPC, email marketing, Joint Venture, blogging, writing articles relate to the product, give a free report and join forum (create a catchy signature)..

In my experiences, more of my clients comes from the methods i said above. But, not false to try using classifieds but DON'T focus only on that. ;)

    Just my 2 cents.

IMO, instead giving your ad on tons of free classified sites, I think its better you should select few effective classified directories with good listing and plenty number of viewers such as Craigslist, also always focus on your niche categories routed through your target market.

I don't know your site content...but I doubt that the Free Classifieds will do you much good. I had the same idea and started a month ago = here are my results:
Past 30 day results from Free Classifieds.
    www.domesticsale.com ( 0 ) site views
    http://superads.com/ ( 0 ) site views
    http://www.livedeal.com ( 2 ) site views
    http://www.inetgiant.com/ ( 0 ) site views
    http://www.olx.com/index.php ( 0 ) site views
    http://www.pricelookup.com/ ( 0 ) site views

For some odd reason, none of these sites have much traffic...not sure why.

I aggree what etechsupport said about / suggestions.

IMHO, how many people will read your ads? All peoples comes to classified directories want to post their own ads and not to read other persons one.

But, you can try it. ( To get backlinks? )

I own a website with free classifieds, and all I can say is that most of serious free classified websites will not let you spam, and have your affiliate link inside the classified ad.

Free classifieds can work if you can write a good ad that appeals to the people you want visiting your site.

It is another form of advertising and has appeal to webmasters mainly - but established classified sites will have people who bookmarked them and it will cover many different interests, so there is no guarantee that your ad would be seen by someone interested in your site and hence no visits or low visits.
