looking at your blog I would say you are new to all this blogging stuff. So stick to Blogger for some time, see if this is what you want to do. And if you find yourself blogging even after 3 months then buy a small hosting, and a domain. It just a few clicks of work to transfer content to new blog (to wordpress etc)
As mentioned earlier on, the issue with the free host isn't so much the effort to transfer the content to a new host but the ability to transfer the traffic that you have built up with the first site. It would be terrible to build up traffic, PR, SEO on the free site and then switch hosting companies and lose some of that hard work building up the site. IMO, the few bucks it costs for a hosting plan and domain, it is affordable to give a site 12 months as a test to see if you want to continue. -mnc
OK I am now convinced that I should get hosted if I were to take bloging seriously, but I will stick with blogger for now, I will use it to learn as much as I can for maybe a month or so.
Hosted in wordpress.com and blogger.com is the free way to get your blog.. u r repeating the words, not a new info. Also, it is good to use HostGator to host your blog, better and realiable.
In a hosted blog you will have control of your blog better than a hosted one another thing is that if someday u get the blog active and famous, you won't be able to get your own domain cuz u can't access the data a hosted blog on blogger won't mostly get copied ( why u in the millions using it ) but your own host will give u 100% of control
i'd go with hosted blogs for income generation. free blogs have their uses as well. they can create backlinks to the main blog and pump up their PR and direct any organic traffic which might stray onto the free blog. having said that rob benwell has made a name for himself with blogspot ads with his 'blogging to the bank' ebook. i'd stick with my hosted wordpress blog any old day though.
I thought I'd be an intermediate blogger after 1 month, but as it turns out I am still right here where I started.... still a noob, a noob who learned some tricks but still a noob. I didn't know "Pro-blogging" is so complicated.
are u reading the blogs for the top bloggers? i have heard advice that reading the top 5-6 blogs in yr industry can provide you with models to modify. also blog commenting might help you with blog traffic and you can clarify or ask questions too. and if the blogger is helpful, you can try emailing them or reaching them via their contact me form. --ps: have you read any blogging books? there is a blogging for dummies book out, but i've found secretblogweapon.com to be really helpful. copywriting guru jo han mok's blogging with the midas touch is chock full of good advice and strategies too.
Hi, Does Blogging to the Bank (methods in book) still work or has google outlawed these methods ? I just bought the book, but I don't want to buy the two types of software mentioned unless this still works.
