FREE Backlinks from Yedda | Yahoo! Answers Clone

Yedda is a Yahoo! answers clone kind of site that give you dofollow backlinks form your profile/signature/anchor text. They don't have a whole lot of activity going on there but most important thing is that they don't yet add nofollow attribute to the external links. For more informaiton, you can read my blogpost Link Building with Yedda

I tried yahoo answers and posted relevant well researched content and where possible I gave links back
to one of my sites. Every day I got kicked off from some form of violation.

I must have tried 6-7 times with different log ins etc but kept getting kicked off.

In the end I realised I can't give backlinks to my site from there as someone always considers it
    spamming even when its relevant.

I'll try the version above and see how it goes.

Yes it's so annoying to get banned and reported all the time. That's why I hate Yahoo Answers.
It's a place completely dominated by the webmasters, I'm not even sure if normal people visit it :D

you cannot get backlinks form Y! anwers as it is nofollow. depending on how you use Y! answers, you might be able to use it for traffic (which i dont get much and i have over 100 comments there so far) and/or branding purposes.

Y! answers has high expectation hence the random ban. but you are right about the place being dominated by webmasters. specially with all the Y! answers services being sold on BST, you know what to expect there.. :)

Don't understand the point of this really. When they "eventually" decide to go to nofollow, all of your links are useless in regards to PR. Then you're going to wonder why your PR has dropped. It's very unlikely their going to allow older posts to stay DoFollow. It's much easier just to set a CSS which applies to all content and previous posts.

if we all use the system responsibly, then there is no reason for it to go nofollow. spammers spoil the fun for all the rest of us. lot of social sites go nofollow at one point or another but that doesn't mean that we will stop link building. enjoy while it lasts

btw, Yedda is owned by AOL now (AOL bought it end of last year) which means the site might even grow in the near future and if that happens, it will give the links more visibility

No link building on a site like that is great but I would never do so because I wouldn't want to deal with the disappointment 6months-1 year when it does get popular and go nofollow. I mean can you really picture a site like that getting even half as much as traffic as "yahoo answers" and not being abused? Not to mention all the tiny SEO Rip Off shops and Spammers that could care less. I would say more than half of these kinds of people don't even know what Digital Point is yanno?

I don't know. I guess if you're in it for the short run it's a great idea to use it to build up and sell your site off. I plan on running my sites 5-10 years from now, so I shoot for forums and article writing/ezine sites for link building. I guess it all depends on the persons goals.
