    I started a free link directory and as you can see, it's not doing very well. Just wondering if I can get some suggestions on getting people to submit articles there?

    How about giving them a reason to submit their articles? :p One of them could be high PR - this takes some time and work (slash money).

    I would advice you to start the SEO campaign for your site. This will popularize it and persuade people to submit content in your site.

    Thank you both for the advise. I am trying to increase the Page Rank as we speak and I'm doing SEO, it's just the waiting game now. I've had a little bit of interest, but not enough. I want lots of articles and users :)

    I agree with them. Give your site a high PR. Also, you have to campaign it. Put something interesting there. Hmmm.. what about asking people to build an online community and exchange personal stories?
