Free AdWords offer from Google Analytics

As I recently signed up with Google Analytics for my new site and haven't used AdWords before, I'm just had an email from Goggle offering me £75 worth of free AdWords.

Are there any catches or provisos with this offer that I should be aware of ?

I just want to take the £75 worth of free AdWords and run with it, but not spend any extra.

Anyone got any experience of this offer?

Yes I signed up with Adwords using a promo coupon myself. Nothing wrong, its a clean offer. Just pause your campaign once you come really close to the upper limit of your budget if you do not want to continue. All the best!

They will automatically stop running your campaign if you run out of money.

No they ask you for a credit card as well so that they can continue running your campaign if your promo coupon runs out. Thats why you have to pause your campaign when you near the end of your budget or they will simply start charging your card.

You can set it up either way. Mine is set up so that I have to manually refill my balance. When it gets low I get a warning message telling me I have less than a week of budget balance left and that I should ad more if I want them to continue my campaign otherwise they'll stop it when I run out of money.

This is a question I was just going to post. I'm going to use this voucher to and see how it goes :)

Now to get affiliate marketing done!

Okay, so I signed up and used my voucher code, but even though the £75 was showing up in my AdWords account the system was telling me that my Budget was at 0.00 and I needed to make a payment. So I paid £10 on my credit card and that activated it.

Was that the 'correct' thing to do?

Must admit that I still don't understand it, and even though my 'funds remaining' is at £80 (a £5 'activation fee' was deducted from the £75 freebie) I still don't get anything showing up when I do a search on my keywords.

Or am I being impatient? :) (I only activated it 30 mins ago).

Thanks for requesting this information, I'm pretty new to this as well and I'm wondering the same as you.

    Thanks

    No worries.

Just checked the 'My Ad Campaign' and it DOES appear to be working - various keywords showing impressions and so far two clicks at a cost of 15p each.

I still can't get my ad to show up when I search for my various keywords, but seeing as it's based on the amount budgeted I guess that's why.

    Interesting.

So, 32p within the hour - better keep a close eye on my total cost as I have a feeling that the freebie amount could vanish fairly rapidly! Google sure know how to make money for themselves!

Do you have it set up to spread out throughout the day or use it ASAP?

My new campaign is running now to. I made a payment of £10 and I'm still to see impressions and advert displays. I suppose this is a learning curve and the £75 is great to get started with. I'll see how it goes and see if I make any profit of my PPC affiliate marketing
