I have a few suggestions, even though you may not want to hear them.

First off, user friendly ad placement is very important if your site relies on frequent and regular visitors.

So check your website statistics, and see whether the majority of your visitors are NEW or Returning. This is key.

If they're new, then Go ahead and following these tips:

    1. Add the most popular adsense blocks to your site. 300x250, 160x skyscaper, and the large rectangle. They are the best performing in terms of CTR b/c they're easy to read.

    2. I would place a 725x horizontal ad directly below your first post. The square unit you currently have is really out of place.

    3. add a 720x unit in place of the small rectangle at the bottom of the page. Again, we want our ads to be easy to read. The current ad is small and can easily be looked over.

    4. Determine which revenue generator works best and stick with it. You currently sell banner ads directly above your first post, and that's fine. But they are taking away clicks from your Adsense revenue.

If adsense makes more money per eCPM than the banner ad, relocate the banner ad and place an adsense block directly above the first post.

Overall, I think your navigation is very confusing, but maybe your users enjoy the randomness.

Consider writing down an Adsense plan, and implementing it.

Thank you for your adsense review, I'll take that into account when I'll redo the ad placement. If you refresh the page you'll see that there are small variations on adsense blocks sizes, they're not always the same, but you're right, sometimes (as when you visited it) the small ones are displayed too and that's not so good.
My overall CTR is less than 5% on this site, on other sites I can easily go above 10%, so there's a need for change, especially since the revenue on this one is shared amongst members..

the url text is the www.link.com at the bottom of the adsense ad. Change that to a neutral color like black.

Your sitebar is the main means for navigation, which probably means that's where your visitors are looking the most.

draligus, you might want to translate your site in english considering you are using an American dot com domain name.

Aside from the language, I like your sidebar placement, but have you considered a different color than yellow? It doesn't mesh well with your overall theme. I would try red.

Also you the full 160x skyscaper, so it extends down the entire sidebar.

You'll show 2 extra ads which means more click throughs.

    Good luck.

Update: Adsense CTR has improved by 42% since my recent changes.

    What caused it?

-I got rid of uneccesary links around the ads. reducing the number of links, images, and distractions increases your CTR.

-Guide your readers. Have a distinct goal in mind, and guide them towards that goal.

Don't fret. You need to first find out which links your visitors click on your home page.

Go to Crazy Egg and add the java to your pages. This will track where your readers go on your site as well as all the items they click. Then position your ads on the hot spots.

Bottom line: you should always know EXACTLY where your readers go on your site. Don't worry tho. Took me nearly 3 months to optimize my adds.

    1. On your front page, the 728x horizontal ad block is too large for your site. Check for yourself. The ad gets cut off, so either replace it with a smaller 240x ad or get rid of it altogether.

    2. On your sidebar, I would go with white title color on your sidebar ad. The current green color blends in too much, and is hard to see.

    3. Is the Google tool bar referral button really necessary? most of your readers will pay it no attention.

So create a blog post just on Mozilla firefox, THEN place the button in that post. Because people who are interested in firefox are more likely to click it than just your regular visitors.

Try those tips and send me a PM if you need more help.
