From last year i have seen every other day a new network is being launched .. These networks offers very high payouts to attract affiliates . Some are present on adwords too .. These networks make money in following 3 ways . 1. Shave leads (either all or some percentage) 2.Pay to some affiliates and dont pay to other affiliates (to make profit of 70-80% of revenue) 3. Donot pay at all ... I remember last year i have worked with a network called mediadnet.com .. I made $$$$ .. They initially offered good customer service but then suddenly stopped replying and now the domain donot exists .. I believe this fraud could be worth $50k or more because i know atleast 5 affiliates who worked with them .. its just a one name .. I have bad experience with atleast 5 networks. So what do you think about these scam networks ...
It's best to go with more popular higher traffic networks that have been around for at least 2 years. Use compete.com to gauge how successful a network is. The more successful a network is, the closer to the source they will be which means higher payouts for you.
I think everybody, minus those who are a part of these scam networks, feel the same way about them. They're not only bad for the industry, but they're running illegal businesses and are hiding behind what they believe to be the safety of the internet. As an affiliate, it's very difficult to actually produce a case against an affiliate network for scamming them, however, if it's a complete scam network, there are others who have also been scammed and may consider a class action lawsuit. Anyway, it's a shame that there's so many scam networks emerging out of air because it tarnishes the reputation of networks that are relatively new, but do not conform to these 'scamming' practices whatsoever, like my network for example, which is only live for about 6 months. The affordability of HasOffers has helped my network become successful, but it has also helped other networks to scam in the most cost-effective way possible. In my opinion, this industry is really seeing some of the worst times for it right now, where not only affiliates are scamming but networks are as well. The worst part is, I'd say the percentage of affiliates that are fraudulent is probably the same percentage as networks that are scammers, where my figures approximate that there is about 90-95% fraudulent affiliates on the internet. Hopefully this trend changes, but until then, affiliates have to smarten up, read multiple reviews of the networks they'll be working with, make sure you're dealing with networks that are not instant approve, as these networks tend to be the scamming networks, and most importantly, ASK QUESTIONS. I'm both an affiliate and a network owner, and I know that an assertive affiliate is often the most successful type of affiliate, but also the most legitimate type of affiliate. As an affiliate, I want to know everything about the network I'm working with, because I'm spending a lot of my own money to promote offers through their network. The worst thing you could be as an affiliate is ill-informed and in the dark about certain issues. So what it all boils down to is: be careful!
