Fraud freelancers on freelancer.com took my $50 from neteller.com

Hi,

I recently opened a project on www.freelancer.com and a person with this profile https://www.freelancer.com/u/B00T.html messaged me and provided me his skype id, when i added him on skype and talked to him he said he needs $50 advance to start working on my project and he said he will deliver me the work in 2 days his name is Ishtiaq. I had a fraud previously by developer named Karim Metallaoui for my project now this developer who is Ishtiaq provided me his mobile number which is 00801670674514 he lives in bangladesh when i tried to call him there was no ring tone i asked him why your mobile is not ringing he said its switched off. I was worried as i saw his ratings on his profile https://www.freelancer.com/u/B00T.html and was convinced he is real guy who provides quality work, it was almost 17 hours i talk to him then he came online on skype and asked me if i have paid money through neteller to email , his another email is and he said he has already made some work for me and said he will come in 20 minutes again on skype as his mom is calling for lunch then i paid him $50 from website www.neteller.com and guess what after sending payment from neteller its been almost 10 hours and he removed me from skype contacts, a fraud guy from bangladesh took my $50.

Just now i contacted Neteller and lady picked up the phone i asked her to reverse the transaction which i made to email couple of hours ago and she said this account belongs to someone named Ishtiaq Mehmood. I told her this guy is a fraud and just reverse transaction which i did within 24 hours but the neteller lady told me to go to police WHAT ? Yes she told me to go to police in my city where i live which is outside United States Don't pay to anyone using Neteller as all fraud people uses Neteller. There is no help from Neteller at all.

I am going to post about this developer and neteller on freelancer.com and ripoffreport.

This is the second time i have came across a fraud.

can't you contact someone on Freelancer.com and get the guy banned??

 

I have been working as a freelancer for many years and I have seen many fraud. But I really think you should have done many things differently so that you would avoid all this.
1) Don't work on freelance, really it is a place where scams survive easily. I just hate their network because it is full of scams from both sides: contractors and clients.( I have posted some jobs there and I get floods of people wanting to work and they just keep sending lame messages so that I would award them the job and I just hate it. I usually use Elance, it is much safer and a better experience for clients and freelancer.

2) YOU SHOULD NOT have paid a penny in advance especially in an insecure network like Neteller.

It would be good to make sure to contact freelancer but I am pretty sure that they won't do a thing because you paid the money out of their payment system. I hope they would ban him from working.

 

I've been there as an employee, but I think I could suggest this one: next time try a system there (in freelancer.com) called Milestones Payment: that's to place some amount of your advance payment to freelencer.com. It won't be automatically released to your employee; he has to ask for its release and you have to perform the release procedure.

So I think there's a benefit to you if you follow this system; you can be sure that any issues or disputes arised from your project will surely/ should be handled by the 3rd party, the freelancer.com themselves... right?

For any systems beside freelancer.com, just be concern first about the rating of your prospecting employee (rating 3 in freelancer.com is still considered to be a low one)....

Then i contacted him after getting his skype id : appsgiant from freelancer.com and after viewing his ratings on his profile http://gyazo.com/c313cdad705d9686f56930f43e40c24a i was convinced to pay him in advance.

How do you think freelancer.com lets him provide skype id on freelancer.com

I always use to hire people on website called vworker who asked me to join freelancer.com now that i have faced fraud from freelancer.com. Freelancer.com support responded to me like this http://gyazo.com/13acc9c3464ea5204461cad96d4c91bb

The big thing is neteller is laundering money internationally and telling me to go to local police in my city/country. When the payment service like this is provided on internet the service provider must ensure payment sender safety. How can neteller allows such fraud people to receive funds they must infact remove fraud guy account when complain is received.

You can see how freelancer.com recommends me the fraud guy simply unbelievable, after freelancer.com recommended me this developer i was totally convinced to hire him inside or outside freelancer.com

 

Well, its your fault first in case, when he asked to pay in neteller, why dont you check the neteller terms, because if you look the terms, you can understand funds once sent is irreversible. So if you dont follow their terms, you loose ofcourse. And you must complain it to freelance site and get him banned.

 

every payment provider verifies payment sender and payment receiver for person identification but just imagine how neteller is doing fraud business they have verified PERSON WHO HAS DONE FRAUD WITH ME and still doing fraud with others members and Neteller have all FRAUD PERSONS details but not giving to anyone.

Why not, Neteller.com gives me FRAUD PERSON details and i will show everyone real face of scammer/fraud person who resides in bangladesh.

Every website have there own terms and conditions but is it there policy to allow FRAUD PERSONS receiving money. Don't you think its a crime. Neteller.com is a FRAUD WEBSITE WHO ALLOWS FRAUD PEOPLE and made there own terms and conditions where any FRAUD PERSON can take money from anyone. NEVER VISIT NETELLER.COM

Neteller not doing justice and a fraud website confirmed since they are allowing and verifying FRAUD PEOPLE on there website.

I dont get it. Last time I used freelancer, payment was sent via the freelancer system. Disputes could be handled within that system. Additionally contact is done between the clients via the freelancer system. Payment done in milestones, example: design brieft, or psd layouts = 1 milestone. psd to html = 2nd milestone. custom php work = 3rd milestone.

Fraud freelancers are bidding on projects and messaging to contact them on skype and after viewing title FREELANCER RECOMMENDS THIS WORKER and ratings of that freelancer anyone can be scammed contacting the fraud freelancer on skype before hiring him to know if he knows how to work on the project and the same thing happened to me.

I posted a project and i got a bid from FRAUD FREELANCER https://www.freelancer.com/u/B00T.html who have 3 excellent ratings and since FREELANCER.COM RECOMMENDED me to choose him as worker i first messaged him on skype since he provided his skype id : appsgiant when bidding.

The FRAUD FREELANCER told me he cannot work without initial payment and send him $50 through neteller i even told him i can pay him $50 through paypal or payoneer directly but he said to pay only through neteller to begin work. He is verified on www.neteller.com and all fraud people uses neteller it is confirmed. No help from neteller no support from neteller. Can you believe this i paid him $50 i came in his scam because FREELANCER.COM RECOMMENDED him to me.

 

There's frauds in almost every pay system, no matter how secure. Still, I see your point. This site seems to have a higher level of fraud than others just by what you describe. I never used it yet, so now I know to be aware of what's going on in case I do.

 

yea i did read it....
its just, the idea of freelancer is they are only meant to be paid via the system. I would have told him to scram after he demanded payment first.
I dont know what you can do to get your money back.
Part of me is glad that you are warning others, but here is my worry.
You lost $50. If your time is worth only $5 per hour(hopefully you are worth more then this) and if you spend 10 hours on this issue, that another $50 you have lost, putting your loss at $100 and your project hasnt even been started.

You and me have the same issues. The concerns of who to trust and who to hire next can't be readily solved.

 

I tried my best to get back $50 i rang www.neteller.com i asked for help but every time i asked neteller they told me to read there website terms and conditions which proves they keep fraud verified people on there website and they keep inviting fraud people to use www.neteller.com

The most important and interesting thing is that they have terms and conditions but they don't have policy on there website and they asked me to go to police to book a complaint......I cannot believe they are mediator for sending and receiving money for both sender and reciever parties and they have right to control money laundering but they invite and keep fraud people.

It's been almost 14 years using internet and i have never came across scammer's but to make my project the best i chose wrong freelancer websites where frauds people have made there home. I remembered the best to find freelancer website was www.vworker.com made by ian ippolito who made the system powerful and added escrow system but since it was acquired by freelancer.com things changed and the system works horrible now where there is too many fraud people earning money from employers.

So forgot your fund .

 

I know i will not get back funds because neteller don't have policy. Maybe they are not company! but after emailing freelancer.com, still freelancer.com has not suspended that fraud person account.

 

suppose if you paid some one by western union, and they scammed you, will the western union send you any of their details, never. Because, that's their policy.
