My main site that gets little traffic is framed, I was wondering do you guys submit each mini site or pages to the engines or just the main index site, if it's a framed sites(s) ?

I heard a framed site only has the main page indexed in the spider engines, maybe this is the curse of my always low traffic, just wondering ?

I know this is not a adsense issue, but any suggestions about submitting a framed website is appreciated and I am sure others would also find the info valuable as well.........

Why don't you just re-design the site without frames? That way you won't continue to have problems and waste time with work arounds.

    Several issues -

If your index page is framed, spiders will only be able to read the head tags but none of the content so you won't show up on search engines unless the keywords are not very competitive.

If the interior pages are spidered, they may come up in searches without navigation.

I still see framed sites occasionally but in most cases they have no interest in SE traffic. Since clearly you do, any serious SE campaign will include a complete redesign.

As far as I know, there isn't an easy work around which is why framed sites are essentially no longer being built by serious designers.

As a Realtor, I do see them being mass-marketed and sold to unsuspecting agents by some web design firms. Easy money for them since they only have to change small elements and voila! a new website. I cringe when I see them because I know they are being ripped off. but hey, they are the competition.

I don't think many people around here "submit" anything to search engines. If you have links to your site, they will find you.

    Just my 2 cents

I can't remember the last time I designed anythng with frames, nor can I remeber the last time I submitted anything to the Search Engines.

I can, it was in 1999 and I'd just finished reading 'web publishing in 21 days'. I was well chuffed with my multiple frames, animated gif logo and java effects. It seems like a loooong time ago :D

    Cheers

Ive always just designed my sites with html and using wordpad. Is there any free web design tools you all use ? What is the best and easiest way to covert a large framed site to a non frame one ?
