Frame optimization tips

I am working on a frame based site. seoers usually says "never have frames". I have done an experiment on frames and found

"Frames should be used for usability, and they can be optimized well"

Few tips to optimize frames:

• Make the site fully navigational
• Make site SE friendly without frameset
• Place keyword rich content inside the main frame
• All main content frame pages must contain unique title tags, meta tags, anchore text and so forth
• Site must have a secondary textual navigation

And above all...I would like to say that "Frameset also get indexed by search engines"

Frames can get indexed by SE's, thats true, but its more difficult and harder to get high rankings

 

this is going to be a bloody site if your gonna use frames..

 

That statement is correct.

 

I have a few framesets that I did just to experiment with and they do rank rather well if done correctly, but they're such a pain, I just don't find them worth the hassle and gamble versus straight, content-driven pages. About the only time I use framesets is for custom 404 error pages and site searches.

 

Sometime I find it worth to get that pain in optimizing framesets for usability.
