Four day old blog de-indexed by Google - What on earth did I do!

    Hello everyone,

I have an autoblog (which I created approximately four days ago). With that said, yesterday when I checked I had four internal pages indexed by Google (the main page was not indexed - strange). Now when I check today I see that I have no pages indexed. I have no idea what happened?

I thought it was strange that four internal pages were indexed before the main page. Maybe Google thought the same thing and de-indexed the other pages. Could one of my plugins be preventing my main page (static page) from getting indexed? I have built many blogs like this, and have never experienced this before. So if someone could explain to me what could have possibly happened, it would be greatly appreciated.

I am using (site:mycooldomain.com) to check for indexed pages in Google.

    Thanks,
    Gordon

I am not saying it is a fact, but that could have something to do with this thread : LINK

I can't tell you anything until I see your websites. Can you provide your website details though you have found all your pages indexed?

Maybe it could be that people linked to those pages and that's why they were indexed?

How are you checking that your site is no longer indexed? Because it's not in the search results? It might have just been pushed to place #387 or something and that's why you don't see it.

I spoke too soon. All the pages are gone again - damn it!

    I am using: site:h**p://mysupercooldomain.com

That could possibly be the reason. Would internal links matter? Because I had approximately 40 of them prior to being indexed. The links were created by the "Yet Another Related Posts" plugin.

I also enabled link cloaking for my WP-Robot and ReviewAZON posts prior to being indexed. Would that have made a difference? I usually enable link cloaking after I get indexed.

How can I tell if my blog was banned/penalized by Google?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Gordon

Yes, that's normal for a new blog. Google dancing...I just hope that you didn't put too many links, too fast.

I would say that in itself could be the cause of your woes, if they continue. Google has stated they don't like that stuff. Now if by "autoblog" you mean a blog you post your unique content to by other means like a feed or something I'd say you're okay but if you're using stuff like spun content or scrapers that could get you penalised fast.

If you could provide some more details on that, it would help. I know of people here who have done it for years without being penalized. I think this thread will reveal some things : LINK

That person is #5 on google with his autoblog for buy sat navs. It is an autoblog is it not ?

I don't think PR has something to do with it, really. That's perfectly fine for new blogs. Don't worry unless your blog is old and Google starts to remove your URLs from the SERPs. Or, it can be another sandbox effect.

The site is finally indexed. And one of my three keywords that I am targeting is #72 in Google.

That's a start and a sign as well. Have patience and only do legitimate SEO methods and you'll eventually get there. ;)

    Thanks Grimm!

I think I may have figured out what the original problem was. When I log into Google webmasters tools and go to sitemaps. I see that I have two submitted sitemaps (sitemap.xml & sitemap.xml.gz). I manually submitted the "sitemap.xml" one. Not exactly sure were the second one came from (I am assuming it came from the Google XML sitemaps plugin). With that said should I still manually submit the sitemap? Or just let the plugin do it for me? Could this double sitemap file be the root cause of the indexing, de-indexing?

    Thanks,
    Gordon

Since your blog is only 4 day old, just wait and see. Everything will be ok, as it happens with almost all new sites.. All the best..

I think it would be better just to have one sitemap. Your sitemap.xml that should be submitted to Google webmaster tools works best. :)

I think you should wait few days , because your pages might be send to the "send box " .Google will index your pages after few days. Many times it takes 2-3 weeks.

A sitemap.xml is NOT going to get your site deindexed. You can submit one every 30 min and not worrry about it. What you are witnessing is VERY normal, especially with a blog composed entirely of duplicate content AND which has no backlinks.

Your blog's first few "pings" and/or your sitemap.xml might have gotten the site indexed. After several pages were indexed Google likely recognized that all of the posts being posted are duplicate content. Because the posts likely have NO inbound links from external sites, they likely deindexed it. I mean, think about it... why should they clutter their index your URLs with duplicate copies of other posts already in their index when you your URLs have no inbound links?

This is why I tell people they might as well just build links to their site and wait on Google to discover it rather than using a sitemap.xml to get a site with no inbound external links indexed. While the sitemap.xml "might" get your site indexed, it will NOT keep it indexed.

Build inbound links to your inner pages from other sites. Your site will get reindexed even though is all duplicate content.

Sometimes when you submit to Google it will drop in and index your pages almost immediately, however if you have no links and not much content Google struggles to see the value and then your pages will be de indexed. Build more link and post more content.
