An elite military unit, culled from the elite of the various branches: Marine Recon, SEALS, Green Berets. Covert and special ops forces. Bad Boys. I agree with him, and have said it all along. We have clubfistedly believed we can export some idea of western democracy to a foreign land, willy-nilly. We have done so ignorant of the power structures in place, the most obvious cleavage being the sunni-shia split, but there are many others. This was a mistake from the beginning, and, here, too, I agree with Mr. Haney: the harm is likely irreparable.
