Maybe we could get the ponies to start kicking the shit out of criminals?

That would be a pretty good deterrant.

One crying begging convict being executed on live tv , and I think that would be it for the death penalty.

You might be right ferret, I don't think it would make others for the death penalty but it could convert some of the middle people against it. Then again I'm not sure if those not trully for it, at least not gun ho on it would be watching it in the first place.

We haven't created it yet that way.

Guess we have to live with crime around for a while longer, but the crime of capital punishment woud be easy to avoid.

    - start with that one if ponies, icecream and chocolate are out of reach.;)

I have heard some pretty good arguments against the death penalty, but, if anything horrible happened to any of you in that manner, would you stand vigil outside the prison trying to get your mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, wifes, or childs killer a reprieve? Not likely, the bulk of you would say he was getting what was coming to him and be done with it. It's easy to say it's barbaric when your not the victim in the crime.

As it's easy to say you're all for it in all cases it exists if you or someone you love is not the 'victim' of being sent through the justice system without a fair and accurate trial and being sentenced to death. I'm all for the death penalty as long as A it's the worst of murders, rapes and child molestors. Not a simple robbery gone bad situation, B the proof is so overwhelming and far exceeds that of a standard guilty verdict.

I have heard about many relatives from victims that they would like to have the culprits killed.

I fail to see your point.

Its not about what the relatives of the victims want.

If you are for the death penalty then pretty much you are for executing innocent people once in awhile.

    Its really that simple.

If it were my son who comitted the crimes he deserves to die plain and simple. I am not saying if your busted for possession you should be killed.

Oh and I thought I might use a bit of that scripture for my own purpose as well

I'm not saying he wouldn't, but what if you thought him to be innocent and the proof was not realy there that he did do the act, there was at least some doubt that he did not, yet was still convicted and sentenced to death?

I'm not saying this to you so don't take it the wrong way, but anyone who would support the death penalty in the instance of their own child when they

    A. Thought their child did not do it
    and
    B. There was not that much proof and there was doubt that the child did it.

    Isn't much of a parent.
