Found This In My Laundry Basket This Morning

I still had a few clean clothes in the laundry basket this morning and reached in to take them out when I heard this hit the bottom of the basket... I'm not sure if you can get the scale, but it was pretty darn big (over 2 inches or so)! I looked on the web for common Missouri spiders and couldn't find any that looked like this...

We have a lot of those HUGE spiders over in FL. They tend to run across the living room floor when your watching TV.

So... what did you end up doing with it?

The last time one of these ran across the living room I had no bug spray. I opened the front door and tried to make it run outside but it refused. I chased it around the house for almost 20 minutes until it hid and I gave up. An hour or so later as I was watching TV it decided to jump onto the back wall behind my head almost causing me to have a heart attack. I tried to be nice to it but that was the last straw.

So I smashed it with a big book. I swear to you that thing was after me :)

Curious to know what you did with it? Threw? Killed? Kept as Pet? :p

Looks like it's either a Rabid or Striped Wolf Spider or a Grass Spider.. pics I found on Google are a close call.

    http://images.google.com/images?sou...ped wolf spider grass spider&um=1&sa=N&tab=wi

I ended up tossing it onto the patio in front of my apartment. It was big enough when it hit the concrete that the neighbor's tomcat took off running. No joke.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't a Brown Recluse.

Meh, I'm always having to chase down spiders, beetles, grasshoppers and crickets here. I was actually in Walmart yesterday looking at a "Backyard Safari Bug Vacuum" so I could suck the suckers up without having to kill them. Didn't buy it because it was $15 but now I may go back and get it! :D

The good old vacuum cleaner comes in handy when they run off and hide under furniture or hard to reach places.

The biggest one i ever saw in the UK was a house spider that at first glance looked as big as my hand but its a bit misleading as its only really their legs that are long.

Well, I did has a friend, which he rears the tarantula as his pet in a tank...

It's still sounds creepy to me, and I didn't even get closer to the tank, each time I visits my friend...

Not only do I have a lot of spiders in my home but I'm constantly finding myself killing lizards by accident. Lizards are just everywhere around here...

For example this little fellow... wrong place at the wrong time?

Wolf Spiders are all over the place where I live. I've seen a couple 2 inch ones, so it wouldn't surprise me if that's what it was. I noticed that they come out full force after a lot of rain!

hahaha, Yea that's probably the reason. When I'm washing my car I'll see them run out of the grass when the water starts pooling up.

    Edit:

Your picture finally showed up for me, that is a Wolf Spider 100%.

Looks like a Funnel Weaver to me, have a lot of those around here. A wolf spider usually has a bigger rounder body.
