I've heard that social bookmarking does not create that much traffic to a website, wondering if its true.

if you think that you will get hundreds of visitors just with one push of a button, you wrong. Social bookmarking need some work too. You need to get followers on stumble upon..On squidoo you need to earn likes to your lens..But i don't think that all these social bookmarking sites with low traffic are worth a try..

Squidoo canbe a lot of work - its not so much a social bookmarking site, but can be very effective in generating traffic an link value
Squidoo is really good in traffic generation and if you build backlinks to your squidoo lenses, it will help your site rank. Its a bit of work but will pay off over time. With the recent google updates, just make sure your backlinks are relevant so you don't get your sites penalized for having spammy irrelevant backlinks.
