Hi everyone, I am new to understanding the value of a domain and such. I have found a domain with PR3 (verified by smartpagerank.com - is this a good place to verify?) The domain with and without the *www* are both PR3. Only 2 backlinks though and no indexed pages. Not in top 100k for Alexa. Estimated value from smartpagerank is $80.00 Is this worth registering? Would I be able to immediately sell it? (I would register at GoDaddy probably if I did register it) Thanks for your help Veronica
It actually depends on the domain name and which niche it belonged to, if the niche is good i am sure you would be able to sell it

The only way of learning is to try and buy and resell (if thats what you are after).. That being said PR3 and no backlinks, is not really adding to the value. So you have to figure if the keywords are worth anything.. Try estibot.com and googling the keywords themselves.. Also... Never wait.. If you think its valuable buy it then and there.. A domain is 7$ and might be gone tomorrow.. Just my 2 cents
Hi, thanks for your reply promo. May I ask, is a page with no PR, but containing xxx-xxxx backlinks... is as good or maybe better? (assuming not a 5 word domain or just registered last month lol)
I would say better.. Offcourse if you stuble over an old spam site containing only spam links (from comments in blogs and stuff) you need to shy away.. But links bring traffic and PR dont.. That being said .. Everything from PR4 brings added value to the name.. atleast when selling it here on DP
