My estimate was based on getting on the homepage of that SERP. That shouldn't take long. The top spot would get considerably more traffic, perhaps 10 times as much. Regardless of how long it takes or how many backlinks you accumulate. The top spot usually pulls from 1/2 to 2/3 of all of the searched traffic. The second spot from 1/5 to 1/3. It drops significantly after that.
Getting 10,000 links doesn't mean anything if all comes from a single IP address. Remember to diversify your link building strategy - article marketing, guest posts and link exchange with related sites. Use Article Marketing Automation or My Article Network if you are able to afford the subscription fee per month and I believe you will see results in just 2-3 months. But, do slow down your link building at the first 30 days and pick up pace as soon as your site is 3-6 months old. This will prevent you from getting sandbox.
