Forward URL instead of redirect?

I'm trying to get all URL's to forward to my CGI

so www.domain.com/someurl will forward to
www.domain.com/cgi-bin/somescript

the cgi-script needs to have "someurl" passed to it ...

I've tried a 301 redirect, and the redirect works, except that the URL doesn't contain the original file request.

Is this possible?

If you use the $1 variable, this should pass anything that is in brackets ()
