I think the best way to market new forums or any website is by promoting the site to search engine bots and spiders, like Google Bot. - Proper SEO will help to increase free targeted (organic) traffic from search engines such as Google.com - Try posting back links in link directories that offer relevant categories. - I would also recommend writing articles, or hire someone to write optimized articles, and post back links to the articles from relevant websites that are related your forums.
I've submitted a sitemap to google and we are indexed but we only get 1 or 2 visitors a day and none sign up. Have had msn, ask and yahoo bots also on the site but no visitors from them. I've got someone doing me some articles just need to wait for them to be sent then I can submit them to article directories Have submitted the site to a lot of directories, have avoided ones with no PR would you suggest submitting to these too?
