Forums..with or without ads?

ok... like is a forum better without any ads at all instead of having ads?


i dont mean abotu the money it makes the forum..i mean--if the webmaster or owner of the site doesnt have any ads at alland its super fast..does it make the forum better than other forums with ads and stuff??

i see on some forums that they want people to pay for stuff that you can get free on other forums as features? why would anyone go that if the forum is basically about the same content?

If the ads don't work for the forum the forum won't work.

Whatever it takes to share the knowledge IMHO.

Forums are my favourite social media.

I don't think it matters to me how it's moneterised, if money leads to time invested which results in less spam that would be a plus though

 

If it is a new forum with little traffic, ads would definitively be a turn off. Once a forum is established an popular, I think ads are OK.
Look at DP. They have recently plastered ads all over the place.

 

lets say the money was invested and the was no spam OR ads??? does it make it better then??

 

The ads don't bother me the spam does occasionally, not enough for me to leave tho.
