We've been working on our site and forums for the better part of 13 months now. While the site is not ready for prime time, the forums are. If anyone is interested, our site is http://forums.wispfinder.com The purpose of WISPfinder.com is to aid both WISPs (Wireless Internet Service Providers, and consumers with a good place to find Wireless only talk and discussion. Everything from finding the right WISP to what types of equipment to use and how to set up your own WISP. The WISPfinder.Com site itself which is still in the works will feature the largest WISP and HotSpot Location system on the planet. You will be able to enter your name, address, phone number and LAT/LON if you know it into a simple form and will be shown a list of WISPs in your area. What makes the searching system unique is that it is not relying soley on your address to "pre-qualify you for wireless service. What it is really doing is mapping your LAT/LON and based on parameters that WISPs have entered into our database, making a near perfect guess as to whether you are in range of a given providers services. It's some pretty amazing technology that has taken us over a year to perfect. Anyway, I appreciate comments/suggestions and of course invite people to join the forums. Excellant suggestion. I will add that. One of the things I have been doing in the marketing seminars I give for WISPs is to show them how to gain additional income by harnessing the power of their existing userbase and websites. Great idea. Thanx!!!
