Forums Vs. Directories, BM, and Articles Submitters

I want to get everyone's opinion about forums and blogs. I only post in forums and don't even bother w/ directories, BM or Article Submitters. Which is really better? If you post in a high PR DF blog (or forum) and you post in an equally high PR DF Bookmarking Site - which is really better?

Am I missing out on any opportunity if I totally ignore the directories, BM, article submitters, etc and spend all my time posting in DF blogs? My goal is just to rank high in the SERP's and get traffic from there. Just wondering what you think.

I may disagree...if I have just one hour a day to build backlinks and concentrate on forums (w/ high PR and DF)...what would make a difference. As long as I hit different forums and use different anchor texts, I don't think it makes much a difference than if I do BM, article sub, etc. Anyone agree w/ me?
