forum's profile/signature

how useful a signature on forum? i've seen people offer you so called "service" by offering you seo / back links / visitors / traffic, and essentially all they do is go register on your behalf on bunch of forums and put your url into a profile and supposedly tell you that this will help google to rank you better...

does it really help? or this is all mamba jamba bs / hype?

 

Not only the traffic income is good, but backlinks too your website gives your site a better position in google searches. So if the signature link is on a high rated website without a nofollow rel tag it is very usefull yess.

 

I think they're more useful for direct traffic, say for people on here clicking through to the pop adds link in my signature because most people here want to make money. But I don't think it would work on, say, a book reading site. As for backlinks, search engines like Google pretty much ignore forum sigs these days regardless of whether there are no follow tags or not.

 

They're not as useful as links on related websites, but they do help. It helps if you post on related forums relating to your website, but signature links are still good - especially if you're helping others, and people check your signature to see what type of community member you are, and what sites you work for.

 

Any backlink is an useful link. Provided they are not from spammy websites.

 

I think you have taken the subject itself very lightly. Forum links are a very strong way to generate backlinks and normally the people posting them have a decent idea of whats going to end up in Google and whats not. signature gives us backlinks that is the part of SEO. signature has other value too like that is drive traffic to your website.

 

Long time ago I purchased domain, it came with forum and even though nobbody post anything there I see alot of registration everyday ...

 

It's just really a way to spread the word about your service on the forum while you post and interact with others.
Pretty much free advertising but limited to the forum alone + requires you to post.

 

I am sceptic about seo value of so clled sig links. You get as many as you have posts/replies, but it's from one domain only.

 

Exactly. It only helps if you have a lot of quality content on that particular forum

 

Signature links are helpful up to some extent

and you can expect good results especially when buying in bulk

the traffic that comes through signature links is relatively small but imagine, if you have signature links on 50-100 different high traffic forums

then, you would be getting some small portion of traffic from those 50-100 high traffic forums, which ultimately boost your traffic

I never buy signature links - what's the point? If you're a chatter, use yourself.

 

The signature are very important for the forum poster because it define the poster how much they are efficient in this field.Actually what i say it also help to the forum to collect the traffic and poster can easily collect money from that.

 

I would never buy it, but it helps with ranking and traffic generation.

 

Simply YEA it helps but ofcourse must be done proper not crap or will not help much

 

Signature links are helpful if you actively participate in forums within your niche and ADD VALUE. People will begin to see you as a leader in that niche and often will click your signature link to find out more about you. As far as PAYING for forum posting etc goes, I'd steer clear of it unless you are confident that the person KNOWS what they are talking about... otherwise it can do more damage than good.

It gives you a great opportunity of traffic and quality backlink as well.

 

I only know that do follow links are more useful weather its on signature or anywhere else.
