i agree with elkiwi...it would be a very elite and boring forum... i can also understand where TooCoolforSchool is coming from...it can be a challenge to wade through all the "junk" posts to get to the good ones ...but i understand it is very hard to moderate such a massive forum....you guys do the best possible i am sure. for all those people out there that want to tell us they got accepted into adsense....keep it to yourself....we don't care!
Nice egotistical view point there. Too bad you're gone, now you won't get to read this I guess. You're pretty much a newbie yourself toocoolforschool, you haven't been a member that long. In fact, the AdSense forums are almost the exact same as when you signed up. The only difference is that you progressed through the normal stages from a total newbie to someone who knows. The forums haven't changed and certainly not deteriorated. Those noob threads have always been around and all of us going through the cycle of not-knowing to knowing have found those noob threads very interesting at first. Only now you know you become annoyed with those threads. It's more your problem than the forum's really. Any seasoned member can spot such threads from miles away and it's very easy to ignore them. One of the easiest tricks is to click the post count next to the thread's title to see who posted in there. If you don't see your AdSense idols in there, don't bother.
Couldnt agree more. Everyone has to go through the learning curve. BTW Here's the first adsense post of the mod http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=246
Whats funny is that I know 5 people that have broken the 50,000 a month mark that post here. I would disagree with toocool that there isn't any good discussion, you just need to know where to look. Of course there are a lot of ridiculous threads but you can't have a successful AdSense forum without these. Many of those newbies are going to be the ones in 12 months that are coming up with new tips, etc. Since toocool joined we have had several big earners, Jenstar, and ASA join. Its hardly a downward slide
People come and go on all types of forums. The people remaining just decide for themselves whether to stay or go. Really it's no big deal. Me, when I get to four figures a day, I'll probably go. But one thing's for sure, I won't make a song and dance about it and create one last thread!
I can see why you may leave when you hit 4 figures but there is another side to it. DP probably has more networking going on then any other forum. I have gotten private AdSense advice which if I paid for it, would have cost a fortune. That extends to the forum as a whole. It is sometimes good to keep your finger on the pulse, even if you have started earning a comfortable living. That may just ensure you keep it
I'm sorry you became too cool for us. Please tell us how we can become as cool as you are. *sniff* I miss school. *sniff*
I would disagree.. The mods tend to be trustworth or those that have been around/ are around often and have some knowledge. Some of real big earners are often the 20 post wonders that noone notices.
Actuaqlly I would suggest a variation of the original posters idea. Create a members forum, not based on adsense earnings, rather on paying a members fee. This works wonders on a very popular web masters forum. The fee tends to keep out all the none interesting threads to those with certain levels of experience. my 2 cents worth.
Hey business is one thing but don't talk about the cowboys! <goes away and cries> That is kind of the point though.. Even if such a forum did exist here or elsewhere, the way to get admited to it is not likely to be posting a thread about it and asking to be let in... I mean if such a place existed, I could imagine that is how it would work... Is that what those threads say? I have always purposfully avoided them... but I never imagined that is what is going on. Tops30 summed it up perfectly really. As someone relatively new here... I know the feeling, very recently, of hanging on every thread and every morsel related to adsense. I was new and knew nothing. In fact I went through the entire history of the forums and probably read 80% of all the threads before I really posted here. After time though, I know some things I didn't know so some of the newer basic ideas are not interesting to me. It doesn't mean the forum sucks or has gone downhill it just means it is part of the lifecycle, which tops pointed out so well. Truth be told there is not that much to talk about regarding Adsense. It is not a topic worthy of 1000s of new and unique threads every day. I do recommend to those who do not know though, DP has a wealth of forums covering all kinds of topics with lots of good people and information. Many people on the DP forums don't ever come to the adsense forum. I came here because of Adsense, but I stay here because of all of the forums.. there is a lot of excellent information, a lot of advice, easy to get questions answered and you can always laugh when someone curses you out when giving you rep and it is grey.
I know of a special club for Adsense networking which charge about $450 for membership. They stopped accepting new members about 2 months ago or so. Have you heard of it ? It has been mentioned by someone here who is a really big earner on another forum and that's where I found out about it. Tried to join and pay but as I said no more new members. maybe it has changed since. Does anyone have any info about them? If you've heard of them you probably know what I am talking about.
4FYB2R, What so special with that forum for charging $450? Is is it a secret forum or something? What is the url?
Fascinating....just by being here in between working my butt off in our restaurant I have increased my adsense to substantial $xxxx s per month ... if I get a bit more time I will double it......so I cannot quite see how this forum has become a waste of time.
I have no idea what is in that forum. I will look for the url and post when I find it in my archives.
