I've read various different answers to the question of whether it is better to have: 1) http://forums.domain.com vs 2) http://www.domain.com/forums The answers have been all across the board, like almost everything else with SEO. I moved my forums to #2 because integration with other scripts was originally somewhat challenging. I've read the other articles, including one suggestion about appearance with other site owners preferences, search engine preferences, etc. Now if I do move to a subdomain, I'm wondering about all the indexed pages in Google I'll lose and the detrimental effect on the forum. Indeed, these are troubling questions and unless I see a compelling reason to change, I'm thinking I shouldn't bother the old way and may try with a subdomain again... It would be great to hear the thoughts of others about empirical evidence supporting either setup.
I think so, subdomain would be better in term of: - integration with other scripts: much powerfull cause to alias, ipaddress etc. - indexed pages in Google: forums word lead domain name, keyword friendly.
definately first one..because google favor the sites with the homepage domain name, like first one www.forums.gomain.com, because it shows that all site is dedicated to the specific information, not like second one, when you looka at it you can see that is just one page is dedicated to the specific information in this situation it would be forums...
