I thought this was pretty good too and I'd be pleased if I had this sort of increase in traffic. It means that the the trend is up rather than down. What you have to remember is that it's not the actual number of visits but the increase in the number of visits that counts.

Forums certainly do bring in traffic, but how much of it is useful?

that is good if you started your site 1 week ago and don't receive any google traffic, but signatures are usefull especially for getting a better position in serps not for traffic imo!

At the end of the day, it's relevant to newbs, and overhyped to the more experienced. The only thing that matters IMO is that this person has proven a system, and as a bonus generated buzz/clicks/interest to his venture, great job. How people react and respond re taking the advice is up to them and their knowledge base/experience.

Perhaps it's different for vendors, but I spend 30-40 min a day on a handful of forums. For my instance it's leveraged VERY well because that bump is actually growing and automating my sales team daily, more affiliates start seeing/selling my product, more sales. It's not sales on small volume to someone elses product, it's an automated growing deregulated income and team. An extra 200 affiliates potentially knocking at my door daily to help me make more money doesn't sound so bad ... It all depends on how you apply your knowledge, or take someone elses basics and utilize them.

Stay inspired, Best of luck with biz today.

Well, I can use my DP stats to help you decide that. (Btw, my blog is only 3 days old, don't hate)
Users w/ Digitalpoint in referer: 90.
10% looked at other posts (but many loaded the home page, where all are visible)
And they made 35 outbound clicks(w/ only one post with any outbound links, on one entry)

Forum traffic is only useful if it can be converted into sales or in other income of some kind. If you just need hits to your site, then have a page with JavaScript autorefresh and load it on your home computer. This way you will generate thousands of hits/visits a day to your site without lifting a finger. :)

Traffic or not, one thing forum posts does is help get indexed on search engines. Which is important for brand new sites.

The best way for a new site to get indexed is to add it to 400 - 800 directories and some most popular top-sites. I got my sites indexed in a couple of weeks and the sites got PR2 - PR3 right a way.

Can't get the same PR like this, but if you want to get indexed fast, submit your site to digg. If the site isn't the kind of thing you'd digg, add a blog and make something that is.
For my blog, it took 18 minutes to get the first page indexed.

YOu can only be successful with Digg if you are a member of one of the Digg gangs :) - groups that promote only certain sites to the front page.

Nope. Doesn't matter. I've never been front paged. The article that somehow got me in in 18 minutes never got more than 6 diggs. I've had some sites get their digg entry dropped as "spam" inside of 10 minutes, and they were still indexed within the hour.
Digg makes me tingly all over :)

PS:Digg users don't click ads anyways.

To do that I will need to write 10 decent massages :)
Otherwise I will just have irrelevant massages which will cause people not to enter my site, or worse - call me a spammer :)
