    Which works better for a domain name? If people google "forum" more than "forums" does that mean "forum" will yieled better SE traffic?

    examples;

    californiaschoolforum v.s californiaschoolforums
    pokerforum vs pokerforums

    etc...

    I want my site to be as optemized as possible, starting with htis detail.

    Thanks for any help.

    I would go for the plural. Then you cover both pokerforum and pokerforums.

    Plural is always a better option.

    I prefer singular forum domains. You want to be the best "forum" in your niche. That's my logic anyway.

    I would suggest you to go for the plural, it's probably better to be safe than sorry.

    Domains are quite cheap these days, why don't you buy them both?
    These way you also limit people from taking the "other" domain...

    Because it covers even the singular word "forum", that is the word "forums" contains the word "forum" so you'll get traffic from people searching for both words.

    Plural ftw.

    If I search for a forum, I use the term "forums" instead of "forum". So I suggest forums instead of forum. And also because the plural covers the singular.

    Search for "forum" gives me 3,610,000,000 search results in google;
    http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient-ff&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1B2GGGL_enIN176&q=forum

    While "forums" gives 1,680,000,000 search results in google;
    http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient-ff&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1B2GGGL_enIN176&q=forums

    On search point of view it seems that people often search for singular word.

    Conclusion; The reason I think the search engine reconginse both as same word but not treat both same as both have different backlinks. Its wise to optimize both keywords seperately.

    Here's the Google Trends report:
    http://www.google.com/trends?q=forum,+forums

    As you can see, "forum" is much higher, so more people are searching to singular forum. However, I would agree with the two domain ideas. Names are cheap, and it can't hurt to own both.
