Forum: use a Cname or buy directly via the host

    Hello dear,

    I have created a forum on Forumotion. I would like to have a personal domain name. Thanks to a good forum activity, the service is offering me a FREE domain name.
    But, I would like to know what is the best solution:
    1- Accepting the offer (the domain renew is also free)
    2- Buying an external domain name (for example on Godaddy), then use a Cname.

    Buy your own domain name. Then there will be no dispute about who owns it.

    Ok. Is it the only different? Actually, I am not very good at computer so I don't really know what is the best :(
